Archie is a handsome purebred Persian with a gentle personality and a heart that reveals itself to those willing to earn his trust. He is looking for a calm and experienced permanent foster home where he can be supported while still enjoying a full and happy life.

Like many Persians, Archie takes time to adjust to new people and environments. When settling into a new home, he is likely to spend time hiding and may cry at night while he finds his bearings. Patience and understanding are key, but those who give him time will be rewarded as he gradually lets his guard down and shows his sweeter side.

Once comfortable, Archie enjoys attention, short cuddles, interactive play, nose rubs, head scratches, tummy rubs, and spending time close by. He has soft fur and a playful personality that grows as his confidence builds.

Archie loves toy mice, especially on a fishing rod, and enjoys games with his humans. He is very food motivated and never misses a meal. He will often sit beside trusted people and enjoys being part of daily life.
Archie would be happiest as the only pet in the home.
He is best suited to an experienced cat owner, ideally someone familiar with Persians or willing to learn grooming needs.

Archie is an indoor cat and is looking for a safe home with indoor living and access to a secure outdoor area if available.
Archie is currently on a weight management diet and has gum disease that may require future dental care.
As a permanent foster, the New Zealand Cat Foundation will continue to support Archie, including help with his specialised dietary needs.
His foster family will also need to be able to transport him to the sanctuary if veterinary check-ups are required.

Archie is desexed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and is ready to find a patient and loving permanent foster home where he can thrive.
