Roo the beautiful whippet x GSP is looking for her forever home
2 years old
Roo is a 2 year old whippet x gsp, who has currently been at a foster home for the last 5 months.
Roo is a beautiful girl, with a lovely nature.
She is a high energy dog, and needs to be walked and have her brain stimulated, every day.
She would be awesome at some type of dog sport like agility or flyball.
She was at her last home for a year and a half, but due to a change in their circumstances, they are unable keep her as they realised that they were unable to meet her needs.
She loves running full speed and is quick! She still outruns dogs at second gear and loves the game of chase.
She has mostly good recall, but still needs some work in distracting environments.
She is well socialised, having attended a dog daycare since she was a pup and recently being fostered by the dog daycare.
She is currently staying in a home with 3 other dogs plus homestays who she gets along well with.
While she has been in the foster homes care, they have been working through her separation anxiety. This has improved a lot, but will need to be managed as she adapts to her new home.
She does have a strong prey drive for small prey, birds in particular, which does need to be managed and worked with.
She has been around chickens, but will need to be reintroduced carefully. She has not met any cats.
She is good with young children, but still needs firm clear boundaries
When her cup is full at the end of the day, she is the cuddliest girl and loves to be wrapped up in blankets. She is eager to please, and in the right home will flourish!
She is in good health, and has been speyed microchipped and vaccinated.
She is allergic to lamb and is currently on a raw food diet.
The right person needs to be willing to continue her training and to be able to fill her cup daily. She would be a great running or hunting buddy.
Having an older mature dog would be good Roo, as she likes the company of other dogs and would benefit from some guidance from an older dog.
