Shy Socks is Waiting for a Fresh Start!

Meet Socks!

This scaredy girl came into care 8 months ago and it has taken her a long time to fully adjust to being an indoor girly! Socks was living rough on the streets with kind people feeding her and eventually they managed to catch her & got her in to us. This started her journey. She has never been aggressive, just incredibly introverted, shy and scared of her own tail! Slowly, so slowly, she started to come out of her shell. She came a when other kitties were around so I decided to give her some buddies full time and she has really started shining since! She's playful, will approach you for pats and is far more brave than when she came in

Socks will likely never be a lap cat. She does not like being picked up and I recommend the 3 monthly flea treatments for her because she will not have a bar of that! She is likely to be incredibly shy at first and it will take her a long time (probably months) to adjust to a new home and be comfortable enough to start showing her personality. She needs humans understanding of this, willing to give her all the time she needs and not try to rush her. She definitely needs to be rehomed to a home with at least one other kitty, or we could easily pair her up with another one of our lovely kitties! Having a kitty friend is extremely important for her, in order for her to gain confidence and not be absolutely terrified of everything!
