Pukeko is a beautiful tortie tabby gal with a mixture of greys, ginger, white and small spots of cream! She has beautiful white socks on all four feet and multicoloured toe beans!!

Found fending for herself Kaikoura. She was petrified at the beginning and would make herself into the smallest ball she could with her tail wrapped in so tight. We knew it was our mission to show her that she is worthy of love and can trust the humans entrusted in her care. Slowly but surely she comes out of her shell more and more each day.

Pukeko is relishing in her right to be a kitten, running around chasing her foster sister and playing with balls, tunnels and toys galore. She just wants what any girl wants and that’s a good butt scratch, firm head boop and a place to feel safe and loved.

Pukeko is going to need to be in a household with a bit of care and patience to get her to flourish as a confident cat. At the moment she does NOT like to be picked up and cuddled, she needs to have the space to come to you when she is comfotable, then she’ll enjoy all the butt sratches you can give and she will rolly polly all over the place as a gesture of trust. She is still learning that she can sleep on the bed (she hasn’t attempted this yet, but she does sleep under the bed) and she is growing her confidence to sit on the couch and lounge chairs. Her bad habit is that she is a trip hazard! She loves to walk inbetween your legs as you walk, just trying to guess which way you are going, wherever you go.

While she has socialized with other cats, she has not been exposed to dogs or small/young children.
She’s speyed, microchipped, had her first vaccination, flea/worm treated. Plus, she comes with 42 days of free insurance!
