The Jersey Buff Turkey is a rare heritage breed known for its warm buff-colored feathers and calm temperament. Developed in the United States in the late 1800s, this turkey was bred for both beauty and utility. Its soft tan or buff plumage makes it one of the most visually distinctive domestic turkeys, often admired by small farmers and heritage poultry enthusiasts.

Jersey Buff Turkeys are valued for their hardiness and good foraging ability. Unlike many modern commercial turkeys, they grow more slowly and maintain natural behaviors such as strong mothering instincts and active grazing. Because of these traits, they are well suited to pasture-based farming systems.

All our birds have been raised with optimal physical, emotional and mental health in mind.

Birds can be bused or flown to any destination in NZ at new owners’ expense.
Alternatively, we are based in Portland, 8kms South of Whangarei – less than a 2hr drive from Auckland.

Viewing the birds is welcome by arrangement.
