Meet Woody!
Woody has had a tough start, but this sweet, snuggly boy is now blossoming into a happy and playful companion. He is a mixed breed rescued from the Christchurch City Council shelter. Despite early health challenges, he is now under medical management and gaining confidence every day.
Currently in foster care, Woody is learning all about home life—like why the TV barks when there are no dogs! He loves cuddling up in bed but is slowly discovering his playful side. A total social butterfly, he adores playing with other dogs and would thrive with a friendly canine companion. He has also shown calm interest in cats and could potentially with them with the right introductions.
Woody is undergoing assessments for his joints and is trailing anti-inflammatory medication, which has already brought out a bouncier, more energetic side. He may need ongoing medical care as he grows, so a chat with staff about his needs is recommended.
He has met children of different ages and has been incredibly gentle, though he may need confidence building. Timid at first, Woody is gaining confidence every day, working on his lead manners, and learning that strangers aren’t so scary. With the right home, patience, and continued care, he’ll grow into the wonderful companion he’s meant to be.
