Border Collie x Retriever

Meet our gorgeous Pupino. He is 16 months old, fully desexed, vaccinated with no health issues.
We purchased him from a breeder, his Mum was 1/2 golden retriever and 1/2 border collie, she was fully golden while his Dad was purebred border collie. The whole litter resembled collies rather than retrievers.
We underestimated his energy levels and in a residential area with a small yard. He is at his happiest when he is going for a walk, especially off-leash.
We have a 7 year old son and sadly he’s too much for him. Pupino is not aggressive but he will play fight, not ideal for children who topple over easily. We are expecting a baby in January and just cannot picture them together.
He is full of love and craves attention and affection, if it was just my partner and I we would have him without a doubt. He’s just not a suitable dog for families with young children.
Pupino’s ideal home would be on a farm, or residential with a decent sized yard and teenage age children. We hope to find him a home that can give him the things we can’t and so we will be very selective.
All of the things we bought for him we would of course pass onto the family that adopts him.
