Special Home Wanted for a Beautiful Boy

We are looking for a very special, experienced home for our nearly 6½-month-old Huntaway/Heading Dog cross. Born February 1st.

He was originally destined to become a farm dog, but it’s become clear that farm work isn’t going to be his calling. What he will make is an absolutely beautiful companion for the right person.

He is a gorgeous boy, incredibly smoochy, cuddly and gentle-natured, with a real soft side. He’s also a young working-breed dog, so he has plenty of energy and can be boisterous and excitable. He will need lots of exercise, stimulation and someone who genuinely enjoys an active lifestyle.

He can also be quite timid and lacks confidence, so we are looking for someone experienced and confident with dogs, who understands that he’ll need patience, consistency and kindness while he settles and builds confidence.

One important consideration is that he has been with his brother his entire life. They even share a kennel and have never really been separated, so we fully expect him to miss and pine for his brother initially. His new owner will need to be understanding of this and prepared to give him plenty of reassurance and time to adjust.

He has always d outside, but because he is such an affectionate, people-loving boy, I can absolutely see him becoming a gorgeous indoor/outdoor family companion once he has settled into his new life.

And if you love the outdoors, he’ll be right there with you! He loves water, swimming and throwing himself into the odd puddle whenever the opportunity arises. Billy is great with kids.

This isn’t a dog for someone looking for an easy, low-energy pet. He needs someone who can give him the exercise, training, company and confidence he needs. In return, Ihe will become an incredibly loyal, loving and fun companion.
