2yo Female Border Collie
2 years old
It's with a heavy heart that we look to rehome our beautiful, 2-year-old female Border Collie (no papers).
• spayed and vaxxed
• chipped and registered
• smart, easy to train
• great on and off leash
• house trained and crate trained
• does not jump up
• does not bark unless she feels threatened
We rehomed Jess from a rural property in March 2026. While she earnestly took to me, she was timid and poorly socialised, which unfortunately has come with some anxiety and reactivity. She can be fearful around others, so we usually keep her muzzled when out and about or tethered in her safe space when guests are at our home.
To myself and my husband, she is a loving, loyal, happy and friendly dog. She is relaxed around the home with us, loves long walks on the beach and playing fetch. Over the past 6 months, we have put in a lot of time, money and effort supporting her. She knows basic commands, is obedient, and we have seen significant reductions in both her anxiety and reactivity, and it’s been wonderful watching her develop socially with other dogs as well. However, we must accept that our noisy, messy, high stress home environment full of young children is not helping her to thrive.
We are also working with a trainer, who has every faith that her best is yet to come, and is happy to provide references for her. If the new owners are based on the south coast of Wellington, her trainer would love to continue working with her, either one on one or in his pack walks.
What I'm looking for is a quieter home for her, without young children, where she can fully relax and come out of her shell, to her best life. I am happy to work closely with the new owners to ensure a smooth handover.
Please txt or email for more info, I would welcome a conversation about whether your home might be the right place for our girl.
