RITA - special needs foster 4 life
Female
5 years
Hearing, cognition considerations and managed arthritis
Fostered in Avondale
Desexed, chipped, regoed, parasite free
Rita was found wandering West Auckland by a kind couple who sensed something wasn’t right. A vet confirmed their suspicions - she is deaf. Rita has some further mobility issues also.
Adored by her fosterers, Rita is loving her second chance! She is a big snuggler and is playing again with her health needs been seen to, she will wriggle under the covers to get maximum cuddle position. She enjoys company and being talked to(even though she can’t hear), Rita sometimes has slow reaction times to things she sees. Rita currently s an apartment life where she is queen of her castle and has 3 servants who spoil her rotten! She uses the litterbox perfectly.
Rita is best as a solo cat and with older kids. She is deaf so must be indoors only. Rita has arthritis which is currently not affecting her however this is managed by meds during flare ups. Vets suspect she is a bit slower to react due to an unknown brain issue which may have also caused her deafness - she has a smol, lil round head.
Foster for life (F4L) is a semi adoption arrangement where FPS would cover costs of pre diagnosed health needs while the adopter covers day to day care. For Rita, FPS would cover her arthritis needs and anything neurological that may come up (though this is not expected)
To meet Rita please message us. Note that adequate completion of an adoption questionnaire and a fee of $125 applies
We are a registered charity run by volunteers in our spare time. Our animals are fostered in different foster homes across Auckland and we require you to meet the animal in their foster home before deciding to go ahead with adoption. We deal with adoption applications in writing and appreciate your patience when messaging about your interest.
You will receive an email when new pets arrive - completely free!
