Sun Conures are playful, intelligent, and very people-focused. They love interaction, thrive on attention, and can form strong bonds with their owners. These birds are active and curious, enjoying toys, climbing, and learning simple tricks. They’re well suited to households that can give them daily engagement and stimulation.

All our baby birds have been raised with optimal physical, emotional and mental health in mind. We are a nutritionally focused aviary - babies are reared on Higgins InTune Natural and rearing formula – one of the highest quality, most naturally based formulas available. Young birds are kept together to develop good social skills, emotional balance and well-being – basically this makes sure they know they are a bird not a confused, feathered human.

Babies are eventually weaned onto a high-end diet of quality sprouted seed, fresh veges & fruit and Higgins InTune Natural pellets for dinner completing an all-round nutrient balance.

The Sun Conure is a small vibrant, affectionate little parrot known for its stunning sunset colours and big personality. With brilliant yellow, orange, and green colourings and quickly become the centre of attention in any home.

We take parrot rearing very seriously following modern avicultural ‘best practices’. We have a focus on only high-end nutrition and the birds utmost health and welfare in mind in all decisions.
Available to approved homes only.
Previous bird experience ideal but not essential, however a commitment to quality time spent, exercise and nutrition for our birds going forward will be essential
Lifetime support and a bag of Higgins InTune Natural pellets will be offered to all new bird owners.

Birds can be bused or flown to any destination in NZ at new owners’ expense.
Alternatively, we are based in Portland, 8kms South of Whangarei – less than a 2hr drive from Auckland.

Viewing the birds is welcome by arrangement.
