Looking for a good home
10 months old
Lucy is an approx 9 months old Husky X heading/cattle dog. She was abandoned as a puppy and has been looking for a home of her own ever since.
There are dogs you rehome, and dogs who choose you. Lucy is the second kind.
Someone handed her into the pound on Christmas Eve when she was still a puppy. Whatever the reason, she carries none of it in her face. Those eyes — one of them a striking icy blue — are soft, attentive, and completely without mistrust. They are the first thing everyone notices. The second thing they notice is how quickly she settles beside you.
Lucy is that rare thing: a young dog with genuine emotional intelligence. She reads the room. She settles when you settle. She lights up when you invite engagement — not because she’s desperate for it, but because connection is simply who she is.
Her Husky and Cattle Dog heritage means she has a sharp mind and energy to match. She needs a life with purpose — walks, training, time with you. What she has already shown is that she is brilliant to train. She works for food with enthusiasm, but more than that, she genuinely delights in getting things right. Sits, downs, heel walking, recall — she has taken to all of it with the kind of joy that makes every session feel like a gift.
