Milo is a young male spoodle needing a calm, experienced, and confident owner. He is not suited to first-time owners or anyone wanting an easy family pet.

About Milo:
Physically healthy
Crate trained at night (not during the day)
Good on lead
Great recall
Social with other dogs and enjoys play
Intelligent and highly engaged

Strengths:
Has worked with 3 trainers
Obedient in structured training settings
Responds well to positive reinforcement
Loves scent work and “go find” games
Enjoys mental stimulation and having a job to do
Behaviour

Milo is:

Highly anxious and easily overstimulated
Pushy with boundaries (jumping, climbing, invading space)
Reactive and barks at people
Unpredictable around known triggers
Difficult to regulate once escalated
Sensitive around touch when overstimulated and will give strong warning signals if uncomfortable

He is not a naturally calm dog and requires experienced handling, structure, and consistency.

Ideal Home

Would suit:

Lifestyle block/farm
Calm home with predictable routine
Home with other balanced dogs
No young children

Needs someone experienced with reactive/anxious dogs who can stay calm, structured, and not emotionally affected by his behaviour.

Not suited to retirees wanting a quiet companion dog unless highly experienced with behaviourally complex dogs.

Why Rehoming

Milo was purchased at 8 weeks old in New Plymouth as our long-term family dog. This has been an extremely difficult decision.

We have invested significant time, care, and training into him, however his behavioural needs exceed what we can realistically manage long-term alongside health and family demands.

We are looking for the right match, not a quick placement.
