GARFIELD - special needs adoption
Male
FIV +
Fostered in Howick
Desexed, chipped, regoed, parasite free + 30 days free pet insurance
Garfield is from Mt Albert, his dedicated feeder moved away but continued to return to ensure he and others were fed! He has been someone’s pet at some point, let down by humans until his feeder came along.
The photos don’t do the man justice, he is a UNIT. Garfield is a big, smiley, cruisy boy. Despite his size, he is really quite sensitive. He loves head scratches and seems to enjoy being carried around like a fat baby. Garf is vocal, especially at meal times and says thank you for his dinner with smooches. Garfield is a bit insecure at the foster hub at present, the survivor in him kicks in when the other foster kitties are near and he will swipe (no claws!!) or mouth (gentle warning) if he is worried you will grab him violently. We know he will be just fine in a new forever home with less annoying teens around!
Garf has FIV. This means his immune system is slightly lowered. For his safety he needs to be indoors/ catio contained. FIV is NOT a death sentence and the vet staff remarked about how healthy he is. He will need dental work which we will cover this year. He would like to be an only cat but would be fine with another chill adult that left him alone. Garfield is best with older kids.
To meet Garfield please message us. Note that adequate completion of an adoption questionnaire and a fee of $125 applies.
We are a registered charity run by volunteers in our spare time. Our animals are fostered in different foster homes across Auckland and we require you to meet the animal in their foster home before deciding to go ahead with adoption. We deal with adoption applications in writing and appreciate your patience when messaging about your interest.
You will receive an email when new pets arrive - completely free!
